Introducing ChoZen Air x Wildpath
ChoZen Air joins forces with Wildpath founder Carlton Ward Jr. to raise awareness and funds to protect the Florida Wildlife Corridor. Our seaplane expeditions showcase the impact suburban sprawl is having on our local ecosystems and the need to increase conservation efforts. Together we’re committed to conserving 1,000,000 acres of the Florida Wildlife Corridor, with specific emphasis on protecting the headwaters to the Everglades directly west of ChoZen Retreat.
"Chozen Retreat is honored to join forces with Wildpath & Carlton Ward Jr in our shared mission to raise awareness and conserve the Florida wildlife corridor. ChoZen Air is an immersive educational tool to help us raise awareness and become more aware of the importance of wildlife corridors with a unique lens through which flyers can engage the landscape and observe the impacts of human development.”

CHOZEN AIR’s seaplane expeditions showcase the impact suburban sprawl is having on our local ecosystems and the need to increase conservation efforts. Together in collaboration with Wildpath we’re committed to conserving 1,000,000 acres of the Florida wildlife corridor over the next decade, with specific emphasis on protecting the headwaters to the Everglades directly west of ChoZen Eco-Retreat which sits along the San Sebastian River Preserve & is located within one of North America’s most biodiverse lagoon systems.
“I'm so excited about the opportunity with ChoZen Air because, through a seaplane, we can fly low, we can fly slow, and we can access places you can't otherwise access. Wildlife can help us connect and reconnect to these wild places, and they can show us what we need to do to save a connected corridor. And so ultimately, these animals are showing us what we need to do to save ourselves.”
~ CARLTON WARD JR. | WILDPATH FOUNDER
ABOUT THE FLORIDA WILDLIFE CORRIDOR: The Florida Wildlife Corridor covers nearly 17.7 million acres of Florida. 9.6 million acres of the Corridor are existing conserved lands, or 54% of the Corridor. 8.1 million acres of the Corridor are considered as opportunity areas for future conservation, or 46% of the Corridor. URBAN SPRAWL IS PROJECTED TO CONSUME 5 MILLION ACRES OF HABITAT BY 2070. Florida’s population grows by 1,000 people per day. That equates to one million people every three years. Catering to this rapid growth, new developments are built where wildlife habitat once existed. This results in islands of habitat and wildlife populations separated by roads and suburbs. Motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of death for Florida panthers. Nearly 30 individuals are killed every year.
